You’re not alone. These are two popular starter models that pack a lot of value into a small price tag. They both come with multi-color, HD, touch-screen consoles so you can watch iFit scenery in full color.
They also both give you strong 3.0 HP motors and extra long running decks.
So what’s the difference and which is best for you?
This post will show you the main differences between the Nordictrack 1070 Pro vs C990 treadmill. So you can choose the best fit for your home:
Nordictrack 1070 Pro vs C990 Treadmill – Price
The Nordictrack C1070 Pro is a new model released this year and comes in at a very impressive $999 with Free Shipping direct from the Manufacturer here. That makes it very attractive from the budget standpoint.
The Nordictrack C990 treadmill used to run around $1000 as well. However, as of this writing Nordictrack has raised the price to around $1499 with Free Shipping here.
This is a bit unusual and may be due to the fact that that the C990 will slowly being phased out or replaced with a new model in the coming year. But as it stands right now, the C1070 Pro is the more attractive treadmill price-wise.
Nordictrack C990 vs 1070 Pro – Consoles
You get a multi-color, HD, touch-screen console with either treadmill – which is very cool and a great way to see your workout stats in living color. They’re also both the same size console window. However there are a few mindor design differences.
Here’s the Nordictrack C990 treadmill console:
And here’s the Nordictrack C1070 Pro Treadmill Console:
They both have built-in console fans and easy stop-start buttons. However the 1070 console is a bit sleeker and better laid out as far as the lower button area is concerned.
Also – while they both have tablet holders, the one on the Nordictrack 1070 treadmill is situated a bit higher making it a bit more level with your line of sight.
Nordictrack 1070 Pro vs C990 – Incline
The Nordictrack 1070 Pro gives you from 0 – 10% incline – which is standard for a starter model.
However the Nordictrack C990 treadmill goes one step better with 0 – 12% incline.
So you have a bit more room to grow with the C990 treadmill.
Stability Bar Under the Console
Both models have a stability bar under the treadmill console. However the C990 treadmill has an extra accessories tray in the stability bar.
So you can store your remote, keys, phone etc.
Nordictrack 1070 Pro vs C990 – Belt Size
You have slightly more room to move on the Nordictrack C990 treadmill – which has a belt of 20 x 60 inches.
The Nordictrack 1070 comes in around 18 x 60 inches. While this isn’t a huge difference (and the length of the belt is the same), it might be something worth knowing.
Nordictrack C990 vs 1070 – Size Differences
The Nordictrack C 1070 Pro treadmill is a bit more compact than the C990 model with a footprint of 75.8″ L x 33.5″ W
The Nordictrack C990 treadmill comes in a bit larger with a footprint of 79.5″ L x 35.5″ W. So again, not a huge difference – and they do both fold up.
But if space is an issue for you, it might be worth knowing.
So which is better in the Nordictrack 1070 Pro vs C990 treadmill debate?
Well, both treadmill are pretty similar in the areas that really count like motor power, console and belt length.
They both also give you 32 built-in workouts and iFit Coach compatibility.
So there isn’t one clear winner.
The C990 does outshine the 1070 Pro with a slightly higher incline and a slightly wider belt.
Then again, the Nordictrack 1070 Pro is also a few hundred dollars less (as of this writing) which makes it more attractive budget-wise.
So it really comes down to what you’re looking for and your personal preferences.
