These are two of Nordictrack’s premium Commercial treadmill series – treadmills built with stronger motors, heavier construction and tougher decks than their starter treadmills.
Both treadmills are great choices for heavier use – like long running workouts or homes with multiple users.
The 2450 and 2950 models both give you bright, full-color consoles with iFit options.
You also get extra large 22 x 60 inch running areas as well as 15% incline and 3% decline on both machines.
Both treadmills also fold up and give you iPod docks with speakers in the console.
Both also come with adjustable handweights as you can see in the picture above.
So how are they different? And which is the best treadmill for your home?
In this post, we’ll show you the main differences between the Nordictrack 2450 vs 290 treadmills (2017 models only). So you can choose the best option for you.
Nordictrack 2450 vs 2950 Treadmill – Price
The Nordictrack 2450 is a bit more affordable and comes in for about $1799 with Free Shipping here.
The Nordictrack 2950 is the next model up with a few more extras. It comes in a few hundred more at $2299 with Free Shipping here.
So what do you get for the extra money on the Nordictrack 2950? Let’s find out.
Nordictrack 2450 vs 2950 – Console
The console is where you see a large difference here. Keep in mind that the console is what you’ll be staring at every single day you workout. So you want it to be attractive with the kind of functions you need on it.
Both consoles are much more advanced than a lot of other brands at this price point with full-color touch screens and built-in web browsers. However they are quite different from each other as you’ll see.
Here’s the Nordictrack 2450 treadmill console
It’s extra large at 10 inches across complete with a built-in web browser and a holder for your tablet above the console. Pretty good right?
But the Nordictrack 2950 treadmill console takes it up to a whole new level:
You still get all the same functionality of the 2450 treadmill (quick touch incline/speed buttons, start stop buttons, etc.). But the touch-screen screen is more than Double the size of the 2450 treadmill – at a whopping 22 inches across.
This can take your iFit training and scenery to a whole new level. It also makes your workout stats easier to see.
Nordictrack 2450 vs 2950 – Motor Power
The Nordictrack 2950 treadmill has a slightly more powerful motor than the 2450 model- 4.25 HP vs 4.0 HP.
So it can handle heavier or longer workouts with ease. This makes it great for runners or multiple-user families where you need a bit more power.
Then again, this isn’t really a huge difference. Both are great motor powers for their respective price points.
Nordictrack 2450 vs 2950 – Cooling Fans
The Nordictrack 2450 treadmill has dual cooling fans but the Nordictrack 2950 gives you triple cooling fans. So you get extra fans in the console and the stability bar below on the 2950 model to keep you extra comfortable.
So which is better when comparing the Nordictrack 2450 vs 2950 treadmills?
Well, unlike a lot of other Nordictrack treadmills, there isn’t a huge difference between them. They both give you incline and decline, high speed limits, solid construction and extra long belts.
The real difference that most people will notice is really in the size of the console and web-browser screen.
You get a much larger screen on the Nordictrack 2950 treadmill – a full 22 inches across which is the largest screen you’ll find on any Nordictrack model. This will make reading your workout stats easier and make surfing the net a little more convenient.
You’ll also see the difference when connecting to iFit Coach if you’re running the virtual reality trails as they will be on a larger screen, which most people really like.
The Nordictrack 2950 also comes with a slightly stronger motor – helping it to hold up better under longer workouts – and extra cooling power.
These differences aren’t really a game changer however. So at the end of the day it really comes down to what you want in a treadmill.
