Trying to compare the Nordictrack C700 treadmill:
vs the Nordictrack C990 treadmill?
These are both popular starter treadmills coming in under $1000 – which makes them great options if you want a strong treadmill but don’t want to spend a lot of money.
They both also come with iFit LIVE compatibility which means you can add unlimited new workouts to your treadmill or run famous trails all over the world.
So how are they different? And which one is the better choice for your?
Here’s what you need to know:
Nordictrack C700 vs C990 Treadmill – Price
As of this post anyway, the C700 comes in slightly less than the C990 treadmill. You can get it for around $799 with Free Shipping here. That makes it the more budget-friendly option.
The Nordictrack C990 is only about $200 more, coming in around $999 with Free Shipping here.
However the C990 has quite a few more options than the C700 that might make it more worth your time.
Nordictrack C700 vs C990 – Motor Power
The C990 Treadmill comes in a little stronger with a higher-powered 3.0 HP motor vs the 2.75 HP motor on the C700 Treadmill.
This means it can take a bit more use (and abuse) and still keep going strong.
Nordictrack 700 vs 990 Treadmill – Console
This is one where the C990 really outshines the C700 treadmill. While the C700 treadmill console tells you what you need to know, it’s fairly simple (see below).
Compare this to the full-color, touch screen console that you get on the C990 and you’ll see it makes quite a difference:
Plus on the C990 there’s a built-in web browser that you don’t get with the C700. So you can surf the net, read emails or watch YouTube videos online as you walk.
This is a great way to add more fun and enjoyment to your workouts. And it will also ensure you’ll stay on the treadmill longer – giving you better results overall.
Nordictrack C700 vs C990 Treadmill – Speed Limit
The C700 gives you from 0 – 10 MPH speed limit whereas the C990 gives you from 0 – 12 MPH. So there’s a little more room to grow with the C990 treadmill.
Nordictrack C700 vs C990 Treadmill – Incline
The same is true here as the C700 gives you up to 10% incline. Not bad. But the C990 gives you a bit more with up to 12% incline. So again, there’s more room to grow as your fitness level improves with time.
Nordictrack C700 vs C990 Treadmill – Belt Size
The C700 gives you a fairly standard sized belt: 20 x 55 inches long. This should be fine for most people.
But if you want more room to move, you may appreciate the longer 20 x 60 inch belt on the C990 treadmill. This is especially handy for taller people or runners as you won’t feel like you’re bumping up against the edge of the treadmill.
Nordictrack 700 vs 990 Treadmill – iFit LIVE
While both treadmills are iFit LIVE Compatible, the C990 comes with iFit LIVE built-in. That means you don’t have to buy the extra iFit LIVE module like you do with the C700 treadmill. It’s also super-easy to connect to iFit using the Wifi in the Console on the C990 treadmill.
Also because you don’t have the web browser console in the C700 treadmill, unless you have a tablet you can use to connect to iFit live (see pic above), then you won’t get as much out of iFit (i.e. you won’t be able to watch the full color scenes of the famous trails you’re running in iFit).
If you have a tablet however you can connect and attach the tablet above your console on the C700 to watch iFit.
So which one is right for you? Well the Nordictrack C700 is a bit more affordable coming in $200 less. This makes it more attractive from a budget standpoint.
However many people think it’s worth the extra $200 considering that the C990 gives you so much more including the hugely upgraded console, longer belt, stronger motor more incline and speed options.
These features give you a more entertaining workout – and a lot more room to grow with the treadmill as your fitness level improves.
