Nordictrack Commercial 2950 Treadmill – Pros:
Massive, 22 Inch, Touch-Screen Console
The largest full color console that Nordictrack made was 10 inches across. Until they released this more-than-double-the-size console of 22 inches. This is like having a huge touch-screen computer display built into your treadmill.
The Smart HD display uses iFit Coach Plus to take you from the shores of Hawaii to the streets of Paris and anywhere in between. You can easily switch between your iFit Coach Plus workout and your workout stats with the swipe of a finger.
Take Live Fitness Classes Every Day From Home
This is something we’ve never seen on a treadmill before. With the Nordictrack Commercial 2950 you can participate in daily live fitness classes led by a professional instructor. You see everything on your screen as the instructor leads you through your workout.
Free Pair of Adjustable Handweights
The Nordictrack 2950 also comes with two 12.5-pound SpeedWeight™ adjustable dumbbells. You can use them on your own. Your personal trainer will also give you ideas on how to work them into your training sessions as well.
Not sure if you can lift 12.5 pound dumbbells? No problem, you can adjust these weights from between 2.5 pounds up to 12.5 pounds. So it’s easy to start out with light weights and then increase them as you get in better shape over time.
There’s also a stand on the side of the treadmill to place them for easy storage.
Monster 4.25 HP Motor
This is one of the toughest, strongest motors that Nordictrack makes. It easily powers the extra long, extra wide belt without breaking a sweat.
(If you have too much belt and not enough motor power, you can quickly burn out your motor).
It’s also ideal for longer workouts or multiple user households that plan on frequent use of the treadmill.
More Room To Move
At 22 x 60 inches, this is one of the largest (and widest) belts on the market at this price point. This gives you extra room to stretch out and run. It’s also ideal for taller users.
Plus the cushioning is adjustable – so you can choose to run on a firm surface (like road running) or a softer surface to give you more cushioning protection.
Incline and Decline
The Nordictrack Commercial 2950 gives you up to 15% incline and even 3% decline for extra crosstraining options. The incline/decline works with the built-in workouts (and iFit workouts) to automatically change the terrain as you run or walk.
You can also change the incline/decline manually with the one-touch buttons on the console.
Wireless Heart Rate Monitor
If you get the Nordictrack 2950 Commercial treadmill direct through the Manufacturer here you can get a Free Wireless Heart Rate monitor included.
You can also use the EKG hand sensors in front of the console. But many people prefer the wireless chest strap as it’s more accurate – and it’s more convenient than continually grasping the hand sensors.
Nordictrack Commercial 2950 Review – Cons:
The iFit Coach is a very cool tool to have. You get LiveCast™ daily workout videos and custom meal plans based on your fitness goals, as well as a free wearable to track your activity and sleep patterns.
Basically, you step on your treadmill, hit “Start” for your daily workout, and discover a new route from around the globe. However iFit Coach is also subscription-based. The Nordictrack 2950 is sold with a one-year commitment of $39.00 per month, billed annually.
Considering that this is kind of like having a gym membership, most people don’t mind. But it is something to be aware of before you buy.
If you’re looking for the ultimate runners treadmill, you really can’t go wrong with the Nordictrack 2950. It’s built to take a beating and last for years (with an extra-long warranty to protect your investment).
And with the new upgrades including live fitness classes, free adjustable dumbbells and huge 22 inch touch-screen, it really blows other treadmills out of the water.
You can find something similar on the X22i incline trainer however the X22i is also $700 more and it does not fold up like the Nordictrack 2950 treadmill does.
Basically if you want the ultimate runners treadmill this is it.
Where to Buy and Save
