Nordictrack X11i Review – The Pros:
Burn Almost 400 Calories in 20 Minutes
Looking to lose weight fast? Want to burn more calories in less time? The X11 can get you there.
You can burn up to 381 calories walking at a 40% incline for 20 minutes (as opposed to burning 87 calories walking at a 0% incline).
This is almost 5 TIMES the calorie burning. With your body burning through calories like this, you’ll see results in the mirror extremely fast.
It’s also interesting to note that contestants from the Biggest Loser TV show actually used incline trainers in the competition because they deliver such fast results.
Monster 4.25 HP Motor
This is one of the main differences between the X11 and the X9 models.
The X11 has a much tougher motor – which means it can stand up to more use and abuse.
If you have multiple users in your home or you just plan on long and frequent workouts, a stronger motor will ensure that your treadmill lasts longer and holds up well under the strain.
Extra-Large Web Browser
Imagine surfing the net, reading emails, catching up on the latest business news or even checking in with Facebook friends – all while working out. The web browser is built right into the console and uses the wireless internet in your home to connect you
Plus the console is the largest that Nordictrack makes – 10″ (vs 7″ on the X9 model). It’s also full-color and is touch sensitive so you can surf the Net or see your workout stats with the swipe of your finger. Very easy and convenient.
iFit LIVE Built-In
iFit LIVE is a feature that uses the wireless modem in your home to connect your trainer to the Internet.
From there you can download new workout programs (including ones where Jillian Michaels from ‘The Biggest Loser’ coaches you through the program), run trails all over the world using Googlemaps and track your fitness activity online.
Plus, the iFit LIVE comes built-in – so you don’t have to buy the iFit module separately as you do with other NordicTrack machines. Here’s a video showing you a bit of how it works:
Tablet Holder above the Console
Nordictrack has added a sturdy bracket above the console for your tablet. So you can watch your shows or movies as you walk. And because it does not cover the console, you can surf the net on the treadmill console as you watch your tablet.
Extra-Wide, Extra-Long Belt
One of the past complaints with many incline trainers was that the belts were too short to run on (they were originally designed only for high incline walking).
However, Nordic Track has fixed this by adding an extra long 60″ belt to the X11i incline trainer. They’ve also widened the belt from 20 to 22 inches.
This gives you extra room to really stretch your legs and run. It’s also ideal for taller users as they won’t feel like they’re going to fall off the treadmill.
In addition to a high 40% incline, the X11 also comes with 6% decline which gives you even more crosstraining options. It’s also really neat because when you run different world trails using the iFit feature, the treadmill inclines and declines to match the actual trail.
Nordictrack X11i Review – The Cons
While iFit LIVE comes built-in, you will have to get a yearly subscription to iFit if you want to try it out (about $99 a year). You don’t need to get iFit to use this incline trainer however.
The incline trainer – including the web browser – works perfectly fine without iFit. In fact there’s a whopping 44 built-in workouts that come (free) with the X11 already.
So you can always wait and see if you want to add on iFit LIVE when you’re ready to try it.
Also be aware that like all Nordictrack incline trainers, the X11i does not fold up.
The Nordictrack X11i gives you everything you could possibly want in an incline trainer including the high inclines and declines, iFit LIVE, large web browser and extra long belt.
Plus it moves up to a much stronger motor power (over the X9i) and a longer warranty with a larger console web browser.
Is it worth the extra money over the X9i?
Well, if you’re planning on low to medium use of your trainer, you could probably save a bit and go with the X9i model.
But if you’re looking for a tougher, stronger incline trainer that can take a bit more of a beating, the X11i is definitely worth considering.
Where to Buy and Save
You can save up to $1000 Off the Nordictrack X11i incline treadmill direct from the Manufacturer. You can also get Free Shipping to your home which can save you about $150.
