Nordictrack X9i Incline Trainer Review – The Benefits:
Burn Almost 400 Calories in 20 Minutes
Looking to burn more calories in less time? The X9i trainer can get you there.
According to tests done by the manufacturer, you can burn up to 381 calories walking at a 40% incline for 20 minutes (as opposed to burning 87 calories walking at a 0% incline).
This is almost 5 TIMES the calorie burning. With your body burning through calories like this, you’ll see results in the mirror extremely fast.
In fact, contestants on The Biggest Loser actually used the incline trainer treadmill instead of regular treadmills on the show – because it gets such fast results in so little time.
Full-Color, HD Console with Web Browser
This is something else other brands don’t give you – a full-color, interactive console with Android Web browser.
So you can go online and read your emails, catch up with your Facebook friends or watch YouTube videos as you walk!
It also integrates easily with iFit Coach to show you new workouts every day in full color or help you set new goals and watch your progress over time.
iFit Coach Personal Training
With iFit Coach you get individualized coaching 24 hours a day. You can use it to track your activity, exercise, calories and even your sleep patterns to reach your best health goals ever.
Plus if you buy through the Manufacturer here, you can get a Free iFit wearable (regular $129).
One of the best things about iFit Coach are the HD video workouts led by top personal trainers.
You’ll be guided through beautiful locations all over the world- from Switzerland to Greece – and participate in challenging fitness classes, all directly on your equipment.
You also get access to Livecast fitness classes every day and can follow your favorite professional trainers as they lead you through intense cross-training exercises.
And workouts don’t just include using your treadmill – they also include weight training using your handweights and other off-treadmill exercises as well.
Free Adjustable Handweights with Stand
The new Nordictrack X9i also gives you two 12.5-pound SpeedWeight™ adjustable dumbbells. You can use them on your own or with the personal trainer classes on iFit.
Don’t want to start with 12.5 pound dumbbells?
No worries – you can adjust these weights from between 2.5 pounds up to 12.5 pounds. So it’s easy to start out with light weights and then increase them as you get in better shape over time.
There’s also a stand on the side of the trainer you can use for easy storage.
Extra-Wide, Extra-Long Belt
One of the past complaints with many incline trainers was that the belts were too short to run on (they were originally designed only for high incline walking).
However, Nordic Track has fixed this by adding an extra long 60″ belt to the X9 incline trainer. They’ve also widened the belt from 20 to 22 inches to give you even more room to move.
Add More Crosstraining with the 6% Decline
In addition to a high 40% incline, the X9 also comes with 6% decline which gives you even more crosstraining options.
It’s also really neat because when you run different world trails using the iFit feature, the treadmill inclines and declines to match the actual trail.
Watch TV Shows With The Built-in Tablet Holder
There’s also a built-in tablet holder above the console. So you can use your tablet to watch movies or your favorite TV shows as you walk. You can also use your tablet to connect to iFit Coach and watch the iFit world trails that way as well.
The tablet will not cover the console – so you can see both the tablet and the treadmill console with your stats at the same time.
Free Wireless Heart Rate Monitor
The X9i trainer does come with EKG hand grips sensors to monitor your heart rate. Plus, if you get it through the Manufacturer here, you can also get a Free wireless chest strap included.
Most people prefer to use the wireless monitor since it’s a lot more convenient than having to continually grasp the EKG hand sensors to get a reading. It also tends to give you much more accurate results than the hand sensors.
Nordictrack X9i Incline Trainer Review – What You Should Know:
iFit Coach is a very cool option to have. You get LiveCast™ daily workout videos and custom meal plans based on your fitness goals, as well as a free wearable to track your activity and sleep patterns.
Basically, you step on your treadmill, hit “Start” for your daily workout, and get to run a new route from around the globe. However iFit Coach is also subscription-based. The Nordictrack x9i is sold with a one-year commitment of $39.00 per month.
Considering that this is kind of like having a gym membership, most people don’t mind. But it is something to be aware of before you buy.
Does Not Fold
Because of the limits of the high incline design, the Nordictrack X9i incline trainer doesn’t fold up. So if you’re looking for something that does fold up or you have a smaller workout area, you may want to go with a standard folding treadmill instead.
The NordicTrack X9i Incline trainer is the most popular model for a reason. You get the 40% incline (and 6% decline) to burn more calories than a regular treadmill.
Plus you get all of the extras to make your workout a lot more entertaining like the full-color web browser, iFit LIVE, iPod dock, tablet holder and more. And it all comes in under $2000.
You could spend more and go with the X11 model ($2499) which has a stronger motor and a slightly larger console. But unless you’re planning on heavy use of your treadmill, there’s not really a need for it.
Where to Buy and Save
You can save up to $1000 Off the Nordictrack X9i incline treadmill direct from the Manufacturer. You can also get Free Shipping to your home which can save you about $150 – and a Free wireless heart rate monitor included.
