You came to the right place!

In past years, Nordictrack used to make all of their treadmill models foldable.

But with the introduction of some higher end models, this has changed.

The good news?

As of this writing, most Nordictrack treadmill models do fold up.

But there are still differences between them that you should know.

So which is best for you?

This post will give you a rundown of the current foldable Nordictrack treadmill models, benefits of each – and how to learn more about each one. But first…

Which Nordictrack Treadmills are NOT Foldable?

First let’s start with which Nordictrack treadmills are NOT foldable: the Incline Trainers.

Nordictrack Incline Trainer

Any incline trainer – the X22i, X32i or even older models like the X11i or X9i are NOT foldable. Why not?

Due to the limits of the super high-incline design, these units do not fold up. You can take the console apart from the base for easier movement – but you can’t fold them up.

Another Nordictrack treadmill that is not foldable?  The Nordictrack Elite treadmill.

While this one seems like it is being discontinued, Nordictrack does sometimes bring it back.

It is, in essence, also an incline trainer (even though Nordictrack calles it an Elite “treadmill”). But it still gives you super high inclines of up to 40% – so basically it’s an incline trainer. And because of this, it doesn’t fold up.

Foldable Nordictrack Treadmills Models – Which is Best?

Now let’s talk about which Nordictrack treadmill models DO fold up – so you can find the best option for you. This can be broken down – as of this writing – into 3 groups:

  1. Older Models
  2. EXP Series
  3. Commercial Series

The older models are the models that you might find kicking around in stores – models from years past that need to be moved out of inventory. In general – unless these treadmills are incline trainers – or over $4000 they will probably fold up.

The downside?

They’re older models. So there might be a reason these models didn’t sell (and Nordictrack sent them to the stores to try and move the inventory).

Also, be aware that – depending on how old the model is – you might not get all of the bells and whistles that Nordictrack currently puts on their treadmills – like iFit for example.

That brings us to the EXP series.

Currently there are 3 EXP Nordictrack treadmills in this series – the EXP7i,  EXP10i and EXP 14i (you can read the current reviews of each one using the links on the main menu bar above).

The EXP series of treadmill is the most affordable series of treadmills that Nordictrack currently makes – starting around $1000 and up to around $1800.

These treadmills have all of the basics you need for a good workout – plus a few extras like iFit workouts and even HD touch-screen consoles.

They don’t have some of the frills of the Commercial grade models – which we’ll talk about below.

But they do give you everything you need for a good basic treadmill workout. They all fold up with hydraulic-assisted lifting.

Plus they’re more affordable – making them ideal if you’re on a budget.

That leaves the last of the foldable Nordictrack models – the Commercial treadmills.

This series of treadmills gives you stronger construction than the two other options above. They have stronger motors and longer belts – making them a great choice for runners or multiple-user families.

They also tend to have larger screens (depending on the model you’re comparing) – for a more enjoyable experience with iFit classes and world trails.

Another benefit is that – unlike the EXP series – they offer you both incline and decline. So you have more ways to crosstrain and challenge yourself.

There are currently 3 different foldable Commercial Nordictrack treadmills – the 1250, 1750 and 2450. You can read more about each one using the links above.
