The Nordictrack C990 treadmill used to run around $1000 as well. However, as of this writing Nordictrack has raised the price to around $1499 with Free Shipping here.
This is a bit unusual and may be due to the fact that that the C990 will slowly being phased out or replaced with a new model in the coming year. But as it stands right now, the C1070 Pro is the more attractive treadmill price-wise.
Nordictrack C990 vs 1070 Pro – Consoles
You get a multi-color, HD, touch-screen console with either treadmill – which is very cool and a great way to see your workout stats in living color. They’re also both the same size console window. However there are a few mindor design differences.

They both have built-in console fans and easy stop-start buttons. However the 1070 console is a bit sleeker and better laid out as far as the lower button area is concerned.

The Nordictrack 1070 Pro gives you from 0 – 10% incline – which is standard for a starter model.
However the Nordictrack C990 treadmill goes one step better with 0 – 12% incline.

Both models have a stability bar under the treadmill console. However the C990 treadmill has an extra accessories tray in the stability bar.
