Nordictrack 1270 Treadmill Review – The Benefits:
Full Color, Touch-Screen HD Console
If you tend to need a distraction while working out, you’ll enjoy the full-color, touch-screen, HD 7-inch console display.
So it’s easy to swipe and see your workout stats or start an iFit workout.
Plus it also makes the iFit world scenery a lot more fun to watch (see below for more on iFit).
You’ll also find an auxiliary music port with console speakers. So you can plug in your phone and play your favorite workout tunes as you run.
There’s also a dual-speed console fan to keep you cool and one-touch, quick change incline and speed buttons along the bottom of the console.
You get a tough 3.5 CHP motor, which will easily power you through longer, more intense workouts. The motor also comes self-cooling to help it last longer.
And the extra long 60 inch belt gives runners or taller users more space to stretch out and run.
The 1270 treadmill is also constructed with larger 2.5 inch rollers. These reduce static and again, help extend the life of your treadmill.
Explore the World with iFit Coach
iFit Coach gives you a whole new library of training options. You can connect to iFit Coach with the touch of a button on your console.
From there you can run trails all over the world – from Paris to the Swiss Alps. Watch personal trainers as they lead you through workouts and relay interesting facts about the landmarks around you. You can also choose to run alone without any coaching.
Can’t get to the gym?
Take a livestream fitness class right from your treadmill console. In fact with iFit you get access to over 12,000 different workout videos – from HIIT and fat-burning workouts to cardio and strength training.
The best part?
If you get the Nordictrack 1270 Treadmill through the Manufacturer, you can get a full family membership to iFit Coach included with your treadmill for a limited time. So you can try out all the benefits of iFit first to see if you like it – which is a fantastic deal.
Up to 15% Incline
The high 15% incline is great for adding in high-calorie-burning intervals to your workout.
Plus the incline also works with iFit Coach to mimic the actual terrain of the world trail that you’re running for more of a virtual reality training experience. (So it will incline automatically when the actual trail slopes uphill – and it will go down when the trail evens out)
Adjustable Tablet Holder
While not all of the pictures show this, there is in fact, an adjustable tablet holder that comes with this treadmill. It holds your tablet above the console – so it won’t block your workout stats.
So you can surf the web or watch your favorite shows or movies as you workout.
34 Built-In Workouts
In addition to iFit coach, you also get 34 built-in workouts that come with the treadmill. These change your speed and incline automatically to fit the program fitness goal.
Folding with Shock-Assist
The Nordictrack C1270 treadmill folds up easily and locks into place. There’s a simple shock-assist mechanism you can use that will help you lift the treadmill (and save the strain on your back.
Nordictrack 1270 Treadmill Review – What You Should Know:
While you do get up to 15% incline on this treadmill there is no decline – as you find on Nordictrack’s higher end models like the Commercial 1750 treadmill.
Poor Console Layout
The Nordictrack 1270 treadmill has a rather poor console layout. The fan takes up almost half the space of the console and is reminiscent of Nordictrack’s older (and cheaper) models. And depending on where you stand, the fan can blast right into your face as you run – which many people don’t appreciate.
Also, while this is a small thing – the accessories tray below the console can be a little hard to reach – especially if you’re trying to get something while walking or running.
If you’re looking for a starter treadmill with decent construction and some premium entertainment options, the Nordictrack 1270 treadmill might work for you.
It’s not the best treadmill in the lineup – and not even the best starter treadmill. It’s also pretty outdated at this point. But it’s ok. And if you can get it cheap, it might be worth your time.
The console layout is a bit poor. And you don’t get as many frills as you do with similarly priced Nordictrack models. But overall it’s a decent offering, depending on the price.
