Thinking about the Nordictrack 1650 treadmill?

Not sure where to start?

You can read the full review of the C1650 treadmill here with lots of pictures, specs, pros and cons etc.

But what if you have more detailed questions?

You came to the right place!

This post will go over some of the most common questions I get on this blog about the Nordictrack 1650 treadmill.

Hopefully they help clear some things up for you – so you can make a more informed buying decision:

Nordictrack 1650 Treadmill – Top Questions and Answers:

#1 What’s the Console like? Does it have a Web Browser?

The console is larger than the C990 Treadmill – a full 10 inches across. It’s full-color, HD and touch-screen sensitive.

It’s also fair to note that the console is larger than the 7-inch console on the Nordictrack 1750 treadmill (which is about $200 more expensive than the C1650 treadmill). So it’s pretty cool to find a larger, easier-to-read console on this treadmill.

Unfortunately this treadmill does not currently have a web browser. It does however give you a 1 year membership to iFit Coach included as of this writing.

With iFit you can watch workout videos, run trails all over the world from the streets of Paris to the shores of Thailand – and watch real world landmarks pass you by – all in full color from your console.

There is also a sturdy tablet holder above the console – so you can attach your tablet and surf the web that way as you walk or run.

#2 Do I Need to have an iFit Subscription with this treadmill?

As stated above, you can get an iFit membership included for your first year with this treadmill. From there you can choose to renew the yearly membership – or not. It’s completely up to you.

You do NOT need iFit to use this treadmill. It works fine without it – and it even has several built-in workouts already that you can use to challenge yourself. iFit is really just a great add-on feature you can use if you feel you want the extra entertainment option.

#3 What Kind of Ceiling Height Do I Need For This Treadmill?

The treadmill belt/deck/walking area is about 8 – 9 inches off the ground. At the top incline, it’s about 14 inches off the ground.

So use that measurement and add it to the tallest users height in your home. Add a couple more inches to that and that should be your lowest ceiling height.

#4 Does This Come with a Wireless Heart Rate Monitor?

No, it does not. However it will work with a polar chest strap monitor – you just have to buy it separately. It is not included as it is with some other treadmills like the Nordictrack Commercial 1750 or the Commercial 2450.

#5 How Does This Compare to the Nordictrack 1750 Treadmill? They Look Very Similar.

Yes, they do look similar. However the Nordictrack 1750 is a commercial-grade model.

The Nordictrack 1650 is not. It is a mid-grade model that is a bit tougher than their starter treadmills – but not as tough as their commercial-grade treadmills.

The Nordictrack 1750 gives you a higher incline (15% vs 12%) and a stronger motor. The console on the Nordictrack 1650 however is slightly larger than on the 1750 treadmill (10 inches vs 7 inches)

You can read the full comparison between the Nordictrack 1650 vs 1750 treadmill here.

#6 What Are the Dimensions on this Treadmill?

When unfolded (in use) the dimensions on the Nordictrack 1650 treadmill are: 79.1″ L x 35.8″ W x 60.6″ H

When folded up, the footprint is 71.2″ L x 35.8″ W x 42.4″ H

#7 Do I Need to Lubricate the Belt on this Treadmill?

According to Nordictrack, no, you do not need to – it comes pre-lubricated. You only need to lubricate if you start having issues with the belt slowing or sticking.

#8 How Does This Treadmill Compare to the Nordictrack C990 Treadmill?

The Nordictrack 1650 treadmill is built a bit tougher than the C990 model with a stronger motor and a longer warranty.

It also has a larger console – which can make reading your workout stats or watching iFit videos easier on your eyes.

You can read the full 2018 comparison of the Nordictrack C990 vs C1650 treadmill here.

#9 Is There Decline on This Treadmill?

Unfortunately no. To get decline you have to go with one of the Commercial treadmills like the Nordictrack 1750 or the incline trainers like the Nordictrack X22i

#10 Where Can I Buy This Treadmill?

You can get the Nordictrack 1650 treadmill direct from the Manufacturer here – which includes the warranty (no extra cost) and Free Shipping to your home. It also includes the 1-year iFit membership (as of this writing).
