Nordictrack Commercial 2450 Treadmill

The Nordictrack 2450 treadmill is one of Nordictrack’s popular “Commercial” models. These are treadmills built tougher than their starter models – with stronger motors, larger rollers and heavier decks.

So they’re great for runners or multi-user families who want a tougher, more commercial-grade treadmill.

The Nordictrack X11i is currently the most affordable incline trainer in Nordictrack’s incline trainer treadmill series.

These are treadmills with a twist. They work like a regular treadmill – but they also give you up to 40% incline.

This super-high incline has the advantage of helping you burn up to 5 times more calories than walking on a flat-incline treadmill. So you can see results very fast on an incline trainer.

So how do these treadmills stack up when you compare them? And which one should you choose?

Here’s a review of the key differences between the Nordictrack 2540 vs X11i incline trainer to help you decide:

Console Differences:

Both treadmills give you impressive, full-color, HD, touch-screen consoles. You can see your workout stats in full color with a swipe of your finger.

Or you can connect to iFit Coach and run trails all over the world or stream a high-energy fitness class to your treadmill.

The main difference here is in the SIZE of the console. The Nordictrack X11i console is a healthy 10-inches across as you can see below:

The Nordictrack Commercial 2450 console is a bit bigger, sitting at 14-inches across as you can see below:

The larger screen on the Nordictrack 2450 is a definite benefit – since it makes your workout stats easier to read. It also makes the iFit scenery more fun and enjoyable to watch.

Both consoles give you dual-speed workout fans and mp3 docks with speakers. So you can plug your phone or other device into the console and play your favorite workout tunes through the console speakers.

Motor Differences:

The Nordictrack 2450 treadmill comes in with a slightly stronger motor than the X11i model: 4.0 HP vs 3.75 HP. This isn’t a huge difference – and both motors are quite sufficient for runners and walkers alike.

However it might be worth knowing if you really want the strongest construction possible on your treadmill.

Incline/Decline Options

Here is where the Nordictrack X11i really shines. The 0 – 40% incline is much better than the 0 – 15% incline found on the Nordictrack 2450 treadmill.

You have a lot more room to grow with the X11i incline trainer. It’s also ideal if you like building intervals into your workouts.

Plus you also get a deeper decline on the X11i treadmill: up to 6% vs 3% decline on the Nordictrack 2450.

So the Nordictrack X11i gives you a much higher incline and even a deeper decline. You basically get a lot more crosstraining options on this model.

Nordictrack 2450 or X11iBuilt-in Workouts

Both treadmills come with built-in workouts (in addition to the iFit Coach options). However the Nordictrack X11i comes with 44 built-in workouts. And the Nordictrack 2450 gives you a few more – up to 50 built-in workouts.

This isn’t a huge difference and may not really matter to you if you plan on using iFit Coach – since iFit has over 12,000 different video workouts to choose from.

Note that if you buy either machine direct from the Manufacturer, you can get a 1 year iFit membership included with your treadmill.

So you can try iFit Coach out on either machine for a full year to see if you like it. You don’t need iFit Coach to use either treadmill – they both work fine without iFit. But it’s an option if you want it.

Heart Rate Monitor

The Nordictrack X11i comes with a Free wireless heart rate monitor included with purchase. While the Nordictrack 2450 treadmill will work with a wireless heart rate monitor, it is not included with the treadmill.

Nordictrack 2450 vs X11i: Folding

The Nordictrack 2450 treadmill folds up with shock-assisted lifting to save space in your home.

Unfortunately the Nordictrack X11i incline trainer does not fold due to the limits of the high-incline design (although you can take apart the top console from the bottom deck for easy movement of the treadmill.)

So if you’re looking for something that folds up, the Nordictrack 2450 treadmill is the better option here.

Bottom Line?

So which is better when comparing the Nordictrack 2450 vs X11i treadmills?

There’s no clear winner here. It really comes down to what you want.

The Nordictrack 2450 treadmill is a strong, stable, runner-friendly treadmill that folds up to save space. It also has a larger console, making the iFit workouts more enjoyable to watch.

However the Nordictrack X11i has the higher incline – giving you more room to grow. It also has the free wireless heart rate monitor and a deeper decline option.

So it comes down to your space requirements and workout goals at the end of the day.
