Trying to compare the Nordictrack 2450 vs X32i treadmills?
Wondering which one is right for you?

They’re both well-constructed and runner-friendly.
Plus both treadmills come with iFit. So you can take your workouts to another level, run famous world trails or even take live fitness classes from your treadmill.

So what’s the difference between them? And which is best for you?
This post will show you the key differences between the Nordictrack 2450 vs X32i treadmills. So you can choose the best machine for you:
Nordictrack 2450 vs X32i – Price
Prices on these treadmill do jump around a bit. But for now, the Nordictrack 2450 treadmill has the edge. It’s the more affordable of the treadmills – coming in around $2999 with Free Shipping here.
The Nordictrack X32i has a few more perks to it. It’s technically known as an incline trainer treadmill – and it’s Nordictrack’s top treadmill in the series. It comes in higher at around $4499 with Free Shipping here.
So is the extra money worth it on the X32i treadmill? Let’s take a look:
Nordictrack X32i vs 2450 – Console
Both consoles are well designed and fun to watch on these treadmills. They both come with full-color, HD, touch-screens where you connect with iFit and choose your workout program.
However there are some differences. Let’s start with the size of the screen.
The 2450 treadmill console is 22-inches across:

This is larger than you find on most home treadmills on the market today. It’s fun to watch and the extra-large screen can really pull you into the action.
However, the X32i screen is even BIGGER. It currently comes in around 32-inches across:

Most people will prefer the larger screen. Having a larger screen is more fun to watch – and it gives you a more immersive workout.
You’ll also notice there’s a difference in console design between the two machines.
Nordictrack upgraded the 2450 treadmill this year and separated the screen from the console – raising it up to be more vertical. (This is more like what you see in health club treadmills).
This has one main advantage – you can swivel the console on the Nordictrack 2450 treadmill 180 degrees.

This is handy if you want to get off the treadmill and continue your workout beside the machine (for example if you’re doing yoga, weight training or stretching workouts).
You can also still watch the screen on the X32i model off the treadmill – but you can’t swivel the screen.
So you have to position yourself behind the treadmill to continue your workout off the machine as you can see below:

Nordictrack 2450 or X32i – Incline/Decline
This is another area where you see a big difference between the Nordictrack 2450 vs X32i.
The Nordictrack 2450 gives you up to 12% incline and 3% decline. This is pretty good and can help you get some decent interval training.

However the Nordictrack X32i incline trainer goes one better with a whopping 40% incline and 6% decline. This is unmatched as far as home treadmills go.
What’s the benefit of the super-high incline? You can burn calories much, much faster.

According to the manufacturer, you can burn 5 times as many calories walking up to 40% incline vs a flat surface. So you can see results very fast with an incline trainer like the X32i.
Another benefit?
If you have bad knees, hips or are prone to shin splints, the X32i machine can actually be lower impact than a treadmill. This is because you can walk slower at a higher incline and still burn the same amount of calories as if you walked faster at a lower incline.
And when you’re walking slower, you’re not constantly pounding down on the belt. The belt rises to meet your feet on the higher incline, helping to reduce impact.
So even if you can only do a very slow walk – if you can use the higher inclines, you can still get an effective, high-calorie burning workout on the X32i incline trainer.
The deeper decline (6% vs 3%) on the X32i treadmill also gives you more ways to crosstrain downhill.
Plus, since the treadmill inclines and declines to match the terrain of whatever world trail you’re running, you will get a more effective training experience with higher inclines and deeper declines on the X32i.
Motor Power Differences
The Nordictrack 2450 treadmill comes with a very healthy 3.6 CHP motor. That’s good enough to power you through long, intense workouts. It’s great for runners and walkers alike.
However the X32i treadmill goes even better with a massive 4.25 CHP motor. So if you’re looking for the treadmill with the most motor power behind it, the X32i treadmill is your machine.

Nordictrack 2450 vs X32i? Folding
The Nordictrack 2450 folds up and locks into place with wheels on the bottom for easier movement. A lot of people like a folding treadmill. It’s easier to clean under it – plus, in theory, it’s also easier to move.
The X32i incline trainer unfortunately – due to the limits of the high incline design – does not fold up. You can take it apart and separate the console from the deck for easier movement. But you can’t fold it up.
So if you definitely need a folding treadmill, then the Nordictrack 2450 is your best option here.
Handlebar Differences
You may also notice that the X32i comes with different handlebars than the 2450 treadmill. More specifically these are extra added handlebars that are there to help you steady yourself during higher incline walks.
These bars are also known as Sled Grips and a Push bar. You can use these for added training options.
You just set the treadmill to 1.0 MPH in manual mode and use the sled grips and push bar for more intense body strength training and stretching.
Bottom Line?
So which is better when comparing the Nordictrack 2450 vs X32i treadmills?
They both have benefits.
The Nordictrack 2450 treadmill is more affordable and it folds up for easier movement. Plus, you still get the large console screen and iFit compatibility you need for a more fun, effective home workout.
The Nordictrack X32i gives you a much higher incline and deeper decline. So you can do more with it overall – burn more calories and get lower impact workouts.
The X32i treadmill also gives you the larger screen for a more immersive experience.
So it really depends on what you’re looking for.
