Nordictrack 990 vs Proform 900 Treadmill Comparison
Trying to compare the Nordictrack 990 vs Proform 900 treadmill?
Both the Nordictrack 990:

and the Proform Premier 900:

are two under-$1000 treadmills that give you some incredible features like a full-color web browser in the console and a super-strong 3.0 HP motor.
So how are they different and which is best for you? This post will point out the main differences between these two treadmills to help you decide.

#1 Belt Size
While the Proform 900 treadmill has a decent 20 x 55 inch belt length the Nordictrack 990 comes with an extra long 20 x 60 inch belt. This means you have more room to stretch out and run while you’re working out.
Taller users will also appreciate the extra length as they can pick up the pace without feeling like they’re falling off the edge of the treadmill.

#2 Adjustable Cushioning
The Nordictrack 990 treadmill comes with something you don’t get on the Proform Premier 900 treadmill: adjustable cushioning. So if you want a softer, more giving-deck, you can turn the cushioning up.
If you want a more road-like firmer surface you can turn the cushioning down.

#3 Accessories Tray
The Nordictrack 990 also comes with an extra support bar and accessories tray underneath the main console. So you can use it to hold your keys, the remote etc.
The Proform 900 does not come with a support bar or accessories tray.

#4 Sleeker Look
This is just my opinion but I think the Nordictrack 990 just has a bit more polished, sleeker look than the Proform 900. The console layout it a bit easier to navigate with the one-touch speed/incline buttons running up the sides and easy to read safety stop and start buttons.
So those are basically the main differences between the Nordictrack 990 vs the Proform 900 treadmill. They are very similar because they both give you:
- 3.0 HP Motor
- 7 Inch Touch Screen Console with Web Browser
- Up To 12% Incline
- 12 MPH Speed Limit
- iFit LIVE Capability
- Tablet Holder above the console
- Folding with Shock Assist
- iPod docks

So you can see it’s very easy to get confused as to which one is the better value. However as you can see above, there are a few little instances where the Nordictrack 990 pulls ahead just slightly. Not surprising that it also received a “Best Buy” award this year as well.
