Nordictrack 990 vs Sole F63 Treadmill Comparison
Trying to compare the Nordictrack 990 vs Sole F63 treadmills?

These are both two popular, well-constructed treadmills at the under-$1000 price point.
Both have won various “Best Buy” awards and both have been around – in different versions – for years now.

So which is the best option for you? This post will point out some of the main differences between these two treadmills to help you decide.
So that you can choose the best treadmill for your home gym:
Nordictrack 990 vs Sole F63 – Incline
The Sole F63 edges out the Nordictrack 990 here just slightly with a higher 15% incline vs the 12% incline found on the Nordictrack 990. So you can add higher inclines for your interval training with the Sole F63.
Nordictrack 990 vs Sole F63 – Console
The Nordictrack 990 outshines the Sole F63 treadmill here. While the F63 does have a backlit console, it’s only dual color, simple and fairly standard for what you get at this price point:

However the Nordictrack 990 gives you a multi-color HD, touch-screen console and a 1 year Free membership to iFit Coach.
With iFit Coach you can get HD workout videos broadcast to your treadmill, run trails all over the world from the shores of Hawaii to the streets of Paris and more.
So you can watch all of these things in full color in your console screen – much cooler and more fun than the console on the Sole F63.

You also get an adjustable tablet holder above the console which you don’t get with the Sole F63. So you can add your tablet and surf the net or watch your favorite Netflix TV shows as you walk.

Nordictrack 990 vs Sole F63 – Side Armbar Controls
The Sole F63 has something unique – side armbar speed and incline controls. So you don’t have to reach up to the console to change your speed or incline. You can easily do it from the sidebars.
This may seem like a small thing, but some people do really like it.

Nordictrack 990 vs Sole F63 – iFit Coach
As stated above, the Nordictrack 990 treadmill also comes with iFit compatibility which you don’t get on the Sole F63. What is iFit Coach?
iFit is an option that connects your treadmill to the Internet. From there it tracks your workouts for you over time. You can see how far you’ve come and set new goals. You can also download an unlimited number of new workouts to your treadmill.
And one of the best things is that you can even run or walk world famous trails – from Hawaii to the Swiss Alps – and watch real life landmarks pass you by in the console screen – very virtual reality.
While the most recent Sole F63 model does come with Bluetooth and you can track your workout stats online, it’s much more limited and doesn’t give you the range of options that iFit gives you.

Nordictrack 990 vs Sole F63 – Built-in Workouts
The Nordictrack 990 treadmill comes out ahead here as well.
While the Sole F63 gives you 6 built-in workouts, the Nordictrack 990 treadmill gives you 32 built-in workouts. So you get a bit more challenge and workout variety with the 990 model.
Nordictrack 990 vs Sole F63 – Cushioning
The Nordictrack 990 gives you adjustable cushioning – meaning you can make the running deck a little firmer or softer based on your preferences. The Sole F63 does not come with this option.
Bottom Line?
Both models are fairly similar in terms of construction quality, warranty, motor power, belt length and speed limit.
The Sole F63 treadmill gives you a bit more in terms of incline and controls on the side handrails.
However the Nordictrack 990 treadmill gives you a far superior console with a lot more options for entertainment like the tablet holder and iFit video workouts. You also get adjustable cushioning and more built-in workouts.
So it really comes down to what you’re looking for.

Thanks for the comparison – But I think Sole is slowly dying – it’s harder and harder to find their stuff in stores anymore.
