Nordictrack Alternatives – 3 Nordictrack Treadmill Alternatives To Consider
Looking for A Nordictrack Alternative?
If so, then this post is for you.
Nordictrack is one of the most popular treadmills brands on the market today.
One of the reasons for this?
They tend to offer new technology on their treadmills before many other home treadmills brands (like streaming iFit technology or decline, for example).
They’ve also been making well constructed, highly-rated treadmills for years now.
But they aren’t the only brand out there. There are several other high quality treadmill brands that also make a good product as well.
What if you don’t want or can’t get a Nordictrack treadmill in your area?
Maybe budget is an issue – or the treadmill you want is out of stock due to supply chain shortages (very common these days).
What options do you have?
This post will give you some options if you’re looking for a Nordictrack treadmill alternative. You’ll find a few similar brands below with a brief explanation of each.
You’ll also find links where you can read more about each brand and see which treadmills they currently offer. So let’s dive in:
Nordictrack Treadmill Alternative Brands
1 Proform
Proform is another popular brand that is widely sold and has been on the market for years.
You might notice that their treadmills look quite similar to Nordictrack treadmills. There’s a good reason for that – they’re owned by the same company.
The company used to be called ICON Health and Fitness. However they’re changing their name over to iFit – to reflect their very popular online streaming service.
(Since a lot of people still know them as ICON, I’ll use that name for this post).
ICON is pretty much the largest fitness manufacturer in the world. Nordictrack and Proform are two of their top brands.
There is a slight difference though.
Nordictrack is seen as more of a mid-range to higher-end brand, whereas Proform is seen as more of a starter (cheaper) treadmill brand.
(This isn’t necessarily the reality – it always comes down to the models that you’re comparing).

But consequently, Nordictrack tends to get more of the higher-end construction and commercial-grade features. Proform doesn’t get this extra attention – although they still have popular features like iFit and even decline on a few of their treadmills now.
So here’s where this applies to you:
You might be able to find a Proform treadmill – with very similar features to a Nordictrack – for a slightly better price. Again this isn’t always the case, and you have to hunt around. But it might be worth considering.
Proform also tends to have a larger range of more affordable treadmills if you’re on a budget.
So if you like the look and features of the Nordictrack treadmill – but you want something similar for less, a Proform might be right for you.

2 Bowflex
Bowflex is another large fitness manufacturer.
The Bowflex name is actually owned by Nautilus. They’re a direct competitor with Nordictrack/ICON and a lot of their new treadmills offer you similar features to Nordictrack.
Bowflex isn’t really known for treadmills – more for their famous Max Trainer and Treadclimber (which is no longer manufactured).
However their new treadmills show a lot of promise. They recently introduced two new options that give you an impressive 5% decline.
Both new treadmills also have full-color, touch-screen consoles that you can use to stream workouts using Bowflex’s own streaming service: JRNY.
JRNY is not as advanced as iFit (no live workouts and not as many world trail workouts yet) – but it’s getting there. And they’re always working to add more.
Is there a downside?
Well, these treadmills are fairly new to the market and they haven’t had a lot of time to prove themselves yet (although early reviews are quite good).
Still, the company behind them (Bowflex/Nautilus) has been around for years and has alot of experience in the fitness equipment industry.
Starting around the $1500+ price point, these aren’t starter machines and wouldn’t be ideal if you’re on a tight budget.
They would really be more appropriate for someone wanting a similar mid-range Nordictrack alternative treadmill.

3 Horizon
Horizon treadmills are owned and manufactured by Johnson fitness who have been in the fitness industry for over 20 years.
Their treadmills have taken home a few “Best Buy” awards in the past and they’re generally seen as a trustworthy, stable brand.
Horizon used to focus mainly on starter treadmills.
But in the past few years, they’ve also moved into the higher-end, mid-range market with their Studio treadmill series.
Horizon is one of the few brands that is not currently offering a streaming option on their treadmills.
But they do build several of their treadmills (the Studio Series) with Bluetooth and tablet holders. So you can add in your own streaming service and DIY if you choose.
They also offer things like quick-change speed and incline dials so you can keep up with the class you’re following.
While some of their starter models have very simple, dual-color consoles, there are a few higher-end models with color, touch-screens. So they do have a good range of options with this brand.
Overall, if you’re looking for a more affordable, starter treadmill that doesn’t offer a streaming service, this is one to consider.
