Nordictrack C700 Treadmill – A Good Buy for You?

Looking for a super-affordable Nordictrack treadmill?
The Nordictrack C700 treadmill is currently the most affordable model in the lineup.
It’s a starter treadmill and doesn’t have some of the bells and whistles of other models.
However you do get a strong, stable treadmill – which is really what people care most about.
The 2.75 HP motor is self cooling and tough enough to easily power you through longer workouts.
The console is well laid out and easy to read with a multi-speed fan to keep you cool.

Nordictrack C700 Treadmill Review – The Benefits:
Add Some Fun With Your Tablet and iFit
The C700 treadmill comes with a lot of cool options to help you turn up the entertainment factor as you workout.
For example the tablet holder above the console holds your tablet at around eye level.
So you can watch your favorites movies or shows or just surf the net with your tablet as you walk.
Plus, the tablet can integrate with iFit Coach (see below for more on iFit) to show you the road scenes you’re running in full color.
You also get 20 built-in workout programs designed by a personal trainer to add more challenge to your workout.
Music Port With Speakers
You can plug in your phone or mp3 device and listen to your favorite tunes through the built-in speakers. This is another option that can help make workouts a lot more fun.
Folding To Save Space
The Nordictrack C700 treadmill easily folds up to save space with the EasyLift Shock Assist to save the strain on your back.
Adjustable Cushioning
This is something you don’t often find on other treadmills at this price point.
You can customize the deck feel to your personal preference.
For a softer, more cushioned feel, you can turn the cushioning up. This gives you extra protection for your knees, hips and back.
Or for a more “road-like” firmer-surface feel, just turn the cushioning down.
iFit Compatible
The C700 Treadmill comes iFit compatible. iFit connects your treadmill to the Internet and from here you can do all sorts of fun things.
You can download run trails all over the world – from Paris to New Zealand – and watch real landmarks pass you by in your tablet screen.
You can also train with well-known personal trainers or take a Livecast fitness class from your treadmill with everything from HIIT workouts to stretching to yoga.
Want some inspiration? Just go online to track your workout history to see how far you’ve come! iFit can turn a basic treadmill into your own personal fitness studio.
Note however that, unlike most of the other Nordictrack treadmills, you will need your own tablet to connect with iFit and watch the iFit scenery as you run. You can’t do it through the console window as you can with the other models.
This may be a plus – especially if you don’t really want to use iFit. You can just get on this treadmill and go – forget about iFit.
But if you really want to take advantage of the online training with iFit on this treadmill, you’ll need to add your tablet and do a few extra things to connect.

Nordictrack C700 Treadmill Review – What You Need To Know:
Simple Console
The console on this unit is well laid out – but it’s still pretty simple. It really only gives you the basics of your workout stats. There’s no scrolling message board or running track display that you get with some other models.
Again, as stated above, this may be exactly what you want if you just want a treadmill where you can get on, press start and go. But if you’re looking for something fancier, you may want to look elsewhere.

Limited Incline
Both the incline and speeds are limited on this treadmill. You only get up to 10% incline and up to 10 MPH speed. This may be fine for occasional walkers.
But if you’re looking to build your fitness level with higher inclines or speeds over time, this treadmill is not the best option.
Bottom Line?
The Nordictrack C700 treadmill doesn’t have as many bells and whistles as the mid-grade treadmills. But the basics are good (motor, cushioning, belt length etc.) and the price is excellent.
Plus, if you know how to work around a few things, you can get some great entertainment on this unit. By using your tablet to connect with iFit, you can watch scenic trails in full color (or just surf the net as you walk).
You can also rock out to your favorite tunes with the iPod dock and built-in speakers – and stay cool with the multi-speed fan for extra comfort.
Basically, if you just want a simple, solid treadmill for a great price, the C700 is your machine.
