Nordictrack Commercial 1250 Treadmill – A Good Buy for You?
The Nordictrack 1250 treadmill is the newest, most affordable treadmill in the “Commercial Series” line.
Nordictrack Commercial treadmills are built tougher than their entry level treadmills. You get stronger motors, longer belts to stretch out and more incline/decline options.
The new Commercial 1250 treadmill has the same streamlined look as the other two Commercial units – the 1750 and 2450.
The main difference is that the screen is a bit smaller – but the treadmill itself is more affordable.
Is the Nordictrack Commercial 1250 the right choice for you?

Nordictrack 1250 Review – Key Benefits:
Full Color, Touch-Screen HD Console
The HD console is full color and touch-screen sensitive. While it’s a bit smaller than the other commercial units, at 10 inches across, it’s still a decent size
The screen itself is separated from the console and more upright than a traditional treadmill console – so it’s easier on your neck.
The treadmill comes iFit compatible. So you can watch iFit world trail scenery in full color as you run, take a live workout class – or just swipe to see your workout stats (more on iFit below).
Another nice touch is that you can turn the screen and swivel it. So you can continue your workout off the treadmill (for iFit strength training or hybrid fitness classes for example).
Ergonomic, Streamlined Look
Nordictrack is moving to a more streamlined look with their treadmills. They separate the screen from the console for a more ergonomic, health-club look.
They’ve made a lower step-on height (which is easier for some people with balance issues).
Another nice touch is that – even though they’ve simplified the main console, they’ve still included a fan, speed/incline controls, and two drink holders.
Earlier models of the 1750 and 2450 didn’t have the drink holders (they do now) and users didn’t like losing that extra storage space. So it’s nice to find that Nordictrack has listened and included it on this treadmill.
Get Extra Crosstraining with Incline AND Decline
While most treadmills at this price point give you incline, it’s hard to find one that also gives you decline.
You get up to 12% incline and 3% decline with the Nordictrack Commercial 1250 treadmill. This can help you get extra crosstraining and a more effective workout.
The best part?
It integrates with iFit and the world trails. So treadmill inclines and declines to match the actual trail you’re running for a more virtual reality-type experience.
(Nordictrack calls this “terrain-matching” technology.)
Explore New World Trails With iFit
iFit Coach connects your treadmill to the Internet using the Wifi in your home. From there you can track your workout progress over time to see how far you’ve come and set new goals.
You can also run or walk famous trails from all over the world. You can strolls the streets of Paris or hike up the Swiss Alps. You can even run the Boston Marathon and take in the sites along the way.
Need some extra challenge? Can’t get to the gym?
No problem.
Take a live or streaming studio fitness class right from the comfort of your own home.
The trainer can control your treadmill’s incline or speed for you throughout the workout for a seamless class experience (you can also override this if you choose).
With the Live classes there’s also a leaderboard where you can see your stats or compete with your friends in real time. It’s the next best thing to taking a class at the gym with your friends.
iFit Coach basically opens the door to new training options, which means you’ll ultimately get more out of your treadmill.
The great news is that if you get the Nordictrack 1250 treadmill direct from the Manufacturer, you’ll get a Full family membership to iFit included for a short time. So you can try it out first and see if you like it!

Active Pulse Technology
The Nordictrack Commercial 1250 treadmill also gives you something called Active Pulse technology. This is an option you can use that automatically controls the treadmill speed or incline based on your heart rate.
The goal is to help you stay in your optimal heart-rate zone as you train – without you having to actively monitor it yourself.
(Note: You will need to buy the wireless heart rate monitor to use this feature).
Nordictrack Commercial 1250 Treadmill – What You Should Know:
iFit Subscription
While you can try the full iFit membership out for a short time, if you want to keep using iFit, you’ll need to renew your subscription.
You don’t need the paid iFit membership to use this treadmill however. There’s a free version of iFit you can use with the treadmill. The free version also includes a few built-in workouts. (But you won’t get access to the full iFit library or classes).
Smaller Console
As stated above, the 1250 Commercial treadmill comes with a smaller console screen than the 1750 or 2450 Commercial treadmill: 10 inches vs 14 and 22 inches respectively.
Most people don’t mind since it’s also priced lower – and the only Nordictrack Commercial treadmill under $2000.
Bottom Line?
If you’re looking for a great mix of strong construction with health-club style extras for under $2000, then the Nordictrack 1250 treadmill is a great option.
The stronger motor and longer belt give you the extra protection you need if you’ll be running.
Plus with iFit, you’ll always have something new to try when you get on your treadmill. Stream new studio workouts to your console or run famous trails all over the world. Take a guided walking tour or just listen to your favorite workout music through the premium console speakers.
Overall it’s a great mix of affordability with next-gen training tools to get you to your goals.
