Nordictrack 2950 Treadmill Review – The Benefits:
Massive, 22 Inch, Touch-Screen Console
The largest console that Nordictrack made was 10 inches – until they released this more-than-double-the-size console of 22 inches.
This is like having a huge, touch-screen computer display built into your treadmill.
The Smart HD display connects with iFit Coach to take you from the shores of Hawaii to the pyramids of Egypt and anywhere in between. You can easily switch between your iFit Coach workout and your workout stats with the swipe of a finger.
Nordictrack also added improved HD graphics performance with added processor cooling this year for a more vibrant screen.
To stay cool there’s a dual-speed fan in the console. Plus the console also comes with Bluetooth headphone connectivity. So you can sync your wireless headphones to the treadmill and listen as you run.
Explore the World with iFit Coach
With iFit Coach on this treadmill you can run trails all over the world – from Hawaii to Paris to Thailand and more. Follow your favorite personal trainers as they lead you through the workout in some of the most beautiful places in the world like the Swiss Alps or the Amalfi Coast.
Can’t get to the gym? No problem.
Take a streaming daily fitness class led by a professional instructor right from your console.
You see everything on your screen as the instructor leads you through your workout. These aren’t just treadmill workouts either – you get everything from yoga to stretching to HIIT training workouts.
You can choose from thousands of streaming workouts in the iFit library. Or you can even take a LIVE class and follow your favorite instructor in real time.
It’s the next best thing to being in the gym and the trainer can even control your treadmill for you for a more seamless experience (you can override this if you want).
The best part?
As of this writing, you can get a 1-year iFit Coach membership included with your treadmill – so you can try iFit out for a year and see if you like it.
More Room To Move
At 22 x 60 inches, this is one of the largest (and widest) belts on the market at this price point. This gives you extra room to stretch out and run. It’s also ideal for taller users.
Plus the cushioning is adjustable – so you can choose to run on a firm surface (like road running) or a softer surface to give you more cushioning protection.
Incline and Decline
The Nordictrack 2950 treadmill gives you up to 15% incline and even 3% decline for extra crosstraining options. The incline/decline works with the built-in workouts (and iFit workouts) to automatically change the terrain as you run or walk.
You can also change the incline/decline manually with the one-touch buttons on the console.
Strong Motor – High Stability
The Nordictrack 2950 Commercial treadmill comes with one of Nordictrack’s strongest motor powers – a whopping 4.25 CHP.
This can help get you through longer or tougher workouts with ease. It’s also great for homes with multiple users as it can take a bit more use – and abuse.
Plus, at a unit weight of 360 pounds, this machine is built like a tank. The extra weight helps to anchor the machine for added stability, another great feature for runners.
Nordictrack 2950 Review – What You Should Know:
iFit Coach Subscription
While you can try iFit Coach out for the year, if you want to keep using iFit, you’ll need to renew your subscription after a year.
However, you do get up to 4 user profiles on one account. So you can actually use one iFit subscription for the whole family.
You don’t need iFit to use the treadmill however – it works fine in manual mode without it. There’s also a free version of iFit you can use that also includes a few built-in workouts.
As stated above, this machine is quite heavy – which is great for stability – but it can be a challenge to move around.
You can fold it up and use the wheels on the bottom to move it around a bit easier. However it’s probably best to decide which room you’ll be using it in before the machine arrives – so you don’t have to move it in the future.
If you’re looking for the ultimate runners treadmill, you’ll love the Nordictrack 2950 Treadmill. It’s built to take a beating and last for years.
And with the new upgrades including live fitness classes, improved screen graphics, extra wide belt and massive 22-inch touch-screen, it really blows other treadmills out of the water.
It might be overkill for the occasional walker, but if you want the ultimate runners treadmill this is it.
