They also both carry full-color, HD, touch-screen consoles with online tracking and streaming options available.

The Sole F80 has been around a lot longer. However Sole updated it last year with a new, streamlined look and a new touch-screen console.

The Nordictrack EXP 10i, on the other hand, is newer and has some of Nordictrack’s most popular entertainment features, mainly iFit world trails and LIVE studio workouts.

That leaves a lot of people wondering – which treadmill is best for them?

This post will show you some key differences between the Nordictrack EXP 10i vs Sole F80 to help you make a more informed decision.

Nordictrack EXP10i vs Sole F80: Price

Prices can jump around a bit. However, as of this writing the Nordictrack EXP10i has a slight edge. You can get it direct from the Manufacturer for around $1699 with Free Shipping Here.

The Sole F80 comes in a few hundred more. You can get it direct from the Manufacturer at around $1899 with Free Shipping here.

Nordictrack EXP 10i vs Sole F80 – Console

Both consoles have 10-inch, touch-screens, which is a step up from the older dual-colored, push-button screens.

Sole updated their console to an Android tablet-style screen this year as you can see below:

Sole F80 Console

You can use the screen to view your workout stats during your run.

Plus, you can also pair and mirror your phone or tablet to the screen.

This is a great feature – since you can basically watch Netflix, Disney+, Youtube, etc (whatever you watch on your phone) on the console screen. And a lot of people love having this option.

However it’s fair to note that several buyers have complained that they’re having a lot of problems mirroring their devices to this console.

Some have complained that the tablet in the console is of poor quality and doesn’t seem to work very well (you can read the latest reviews at the manufacturer here).

Sole F80 Console

This can be a common problem with newly updated treadmills. This might be because the manufacturer hasn’t yet had time to work out the “kinks” in a new machine model yet.

Nordictrack also uses a 10-inch, full-color, touch-screen console for the EXP10i treadmill as you can see below:

Nordictrack EXP10i Treadmill

You can connect through this console directly to iFit – Nordictrack’s online streaming service. Then you can run famous world trails or even take fitness classes from the comfort of your own home.

So while you can’t mirror your phone to the screen, you can connect with iFit, take fitness classes, run world trails, track your results etc.

Plus, because Nordictrack has been using this kind of console screen in their treadmills for years now, you don’t have the issues with the screens that the Sole may be currently experiencing.

Nordictrack EXP10i vs Sole F80 – Media Shelf

You may have noticed when comparing the consoles above that the Sole F80 treadmill comes with a media shelf above the console screen. This is a handy place for your phone or tablet

So even if you can’t mirror your phone to the actual screen, you can always use your tablet or phone on the media shelf to watch shows that way. This is a small thing – but a lot of users really like having one.

The Nordictrack EXP10i treadmill ALSO has a media shelf – but a lot of people miss it. It’s placed under the screen window.

So you can also use your phone or tablet on this treadmill to go online, watch Netflix etc as you run. The only catch is that (depending on the size of your tablet), it may cover up some of the screen.

Nordictrack EXP 10i or Sole F80 – Motor Power

The Sole F80 treadmill has the edge when it comes to motor power. It comes in with an impressive 3.5 HP motor.

The Nordictrack EXP10i treadmill comes with a lower powered 2.75 HP motor. It’s not a deal breaker. But if you want the stronger motor possible, then the Sole F80 is the better choice here.

Sole F80 vs Nordictrack EXP 10i – Belt Size

The Nordictrack EXP10i comes with a standard belt size of 20 x 55 inches.

The Sole F80 treadmill steps it up with a longer belt size of 22 x 60 inches. So if you’re taller or have longer legs, you may prefer the longer belt size on the F80 treadmill.

Nordictrack EXP 10i vs Sole F80 – Entertainment Options

Fitness today has gone digital. Smart technology is all the rage as people figure out how to make their workouts more fun, effective and entertaining. This is where the Nordictrack really shines.

The EXP10i comes compatible with an online service called iFit. iFit uses the Wifi in your home to connect your treadmill online. From there you can do all sorts of cool things.

For example, you can take a new studio workout every day from the comfort of your own home. There are thousands of different workouts to choose from HIIT training to beginner runners workouts to yoga, stretching and more.

iFit LIVE Workout

In addition to streaming workouts you can also take a live studio workout – and follow your favorite instructors in real time.

Got a question? Send your instructor a text message and have them answer it for you- which takes interactive workouts to a new level.

Don’t want to take a class?

No problem – choose from thousands of world-trail workouts in the iFit library.

Take a walking tour of Florence or explore the pyramids of Egypt. Climb the Swiss Alps or run along the shores of Hawaii with a trainer who motivates you and points out interesting landmarks along the way.

iFit Workout in Santorini

One of the coolest things is that the treadmill will even incline and decline to match the terrain of the trail that you’re walking – for a more virtual reality type experience.

So iFit offers you a lot of interesting entertainment options. While you don’t need iFit to use this treadmill (there is a free version), it’s a great option to have if you want it.

The Sole also has their own online streaming app called Sole Plus. However it’s newer and not as advanced as iFit.

Sole Plus

There are over 3000 fitness class videos to choose from – which is great. However there are no live classes like iFit.

And there are no world trail runs.  Plus the treadmill doesn’t respond in real time to the workout classes etc. So while it’s a fun option, it doesn’t give you nearly the training benefits of the iFit option.

Bottom Line?

So which is better when comparing the Nordictrack EXP 10i vs Sole F80 treadmills?

Well, each one has their strengths.

The Sole F80 treadmill has the stronger motor and larger deck. It also (in theory) allows you to mirror your phone to the console screen, which is a cool feature.

The Nordictrack EXP10i has the more developed and less problematic screen console. It also has better entertainment and tracking options with iFit. And it’s more affordable.

So at the end of the day, it really depends on what you want.
