Nordictrack EXP14i Treadmill

The Nordictrack EXP 14i treadmill is a brand new model this year. It’s also the top model in the EXP series of treadmills. It’s already gaining popularity since it offers some commercial-grade features for a mid-range price.

The Commercial 1750 has been around for years. And it’s one of the most popular Nordictrack treadmills of all time.

Nordictrack regularly updates this model – and has updated the Commercial 1750 this year with some very impressive new features.

The Nordictrack 1750 is also the most affordable treadmill in the “Commercial” series. These treadmills are geared more towards runners and have some stronger construction than Nordictrack’s other series (larger rollers, stronger motors etc.).

Both treadmills give you impressive touch-screen, full color consoles where you can stream iFit workouts, run famous world trails and even take LIVE fitness classes from the comfort of your own home.

They both also offer you decline (as well as incline) which you don’t usually find on other mid-range treadmills.

So what’s the difference between these two treadmills? And which is best for you?

This post will show you the key differences between the Nordictrack EXP14i vs 1750 treadmill to help you make a more informed decision.

Nordictrack EXP14i Treadmill

Nordictrack EXP14i vs 1750: Price

As of this writing the Nordictrack EXP14i is the more affordable of the two models. You can get it for around $1599 with Free Shipping direct from the Manufacturer here.

The Nordictrack Commercial 1750 treadmill is a few hundred more – coming in around $1899 with Free Shipping direct from the Manufacturer Here.

This makes sense – the Commercial 1750 is part of the Commercial series with stronger construction than the EXP treadmill – and a few more perks.

But if you’re on a budget, the EXP 14i treadmill has the edge here.

Nordictrack EXP 14i or 1750: Console

This is where you see a bit of a difference. Both treadmills give you impressive, full-color, HD touch-screens that stream iFit classes and world trail workouts.

They also both measure a healthy 14-inches across. The generous-sized screen makes it more fun and enjoyable to watch the iFit workouts – and to read your workout stats.

However there’s a difference in the layout.

Here’s the Nordictrack EXP14i console :

And here’s the Nordictrack 1750 console:

As you can see, the Nordictrack EXP14i has more of a flat-screen, traditional-home-treadmill layout.

This year, Nordictrack changed the layout on the 1750 treadmill and made it more streamlined with a commercial health-club look.

They separated the screen from the console and raised the screen to be more vertical (which is more ergonomically friendly).

You can also swivel and move this console to your desired viewing angle (which you can’t do with the EXP14i model). This makes it handier if you want to get off the treadmill for stretching or to do an iFit yoga workout etc.

So while the screen sizes on these two treadmills are the same – the layout is very different. It really depends on what you prefer.

Nordictrack 1750 vs EXP14i: Construction

Both treadmills come with strong motors, tough decks and long belts.

However, there are some key differences you need to know. As stated above, the “Commercial” series of treadmills was built tougher with stronger construction than the EXP models. They are really geared towards runners.

Nordictrack 1750 Treadmill

You see this in things like the roller size. The Nordictrack EXP14i treadmill comes with 1.9 inch rollers – which are good. But the Nordictrack 1750 comes with 2.5 inch rollers – which are better.

Larger rollers help to reduce the friction on the belt and ultimately prolong the life of your treadmill.

You’ll also notice that the Nordictrack 1750 is heavier – coming in at 340 pounds. The Nordictrack EXP14i treadmill is a bit lighter at 229 pounds.

A heavier treadmill, other things being equal, is generally a more stable treadmill. The extra weight helps anchor the machine – so when you pick up the pace there’s less shaking or wobbling.

So while both treadmills are heavy and stable – the Nordictrack 1750 has the edge here. It will be especially handy if you’re a runner.

Nordictrack EXP14i vs 1750: Incline

Both treadmills give you up to 3% decline – which is amazing for crosstraining and changing up your workout.

However the Nordictrack 1750 gives you a higher incline than the EXP14i treadmill: 15% vs 12%.

While it’s not a huge difference, the higher incline does gives you a bit more room to grow.

Nordictrack 1750 or EXP 14i – Audio

Both treadmills come with speakers so you can plug in your devices and play your workout tunes – or listen to the iFit workouts as you run.

The difference is that Nordictrack updated the 1750 with a premium sound system this year that the EXP 14i treadmill does not have.

Bottom Line?

So what’s the bottom line when comparing the Nordictrack EXP14i vs 1750 Commercial treadmill?

Each one has their benefits.

The Nordictrack EXP 14i is more affordable – making it better if you’re on a budget. Plus it has everything you need for a fantastic workout including the extra-long belt, strong motor, HD, touch-screen and iFit streaming.

The Nordictrack 1750 however includes a few more extras.

You get the different screen layout along with more runner-friendly construction and a more stable feeling machine. You also get a better sound system and a sleek, health-club-style layout.

So it really comes down to what you want at the end of the day.
