These two treadmills come in around the same price range.

And they’re both iFit-compatible with full-color, HD touch-screen consoles. So you can run trails all over the world or take fitness classes from your treadmill with either one.

The Nordictrack Commercial 1250 is the newest and most affordable model in Nordictrack’s “Commercial Series” – treadmills built with a few more perks than Nordictrack’s EXP series.

The Nordictrack EXP14i is the most advanced model in the EXP series – with a larger screen than the other EXP treadmills.

It has a longer history than the Commercial 1250 and is very popular with people who want an affordable treadmill – with some health-club style perks.

Which treadmill is right for you?

In this post, we’ll cover the main differences between the Nordictrack EXP14i vs Commercial 1250 treadmills. So you can choose the best fit for you:

Nordictrack EXP14i vs 1250 Treadmill –  Price

As of this writing, the Nordictrack EXP14i treadmill has a slight edge. It’s a bit more affodable – coming in around $1899 with Free Shipping here.

The Nordictrack 1250 treadmill runs marginally higher. You can get it for around $1999 with Free Shipping and a Free Gift Here.

So is the extra money worth it on the Nordictrack 1250 treadmill? Here are some of the differences between the two treadmills to help you decide:

Nordictrack 1250 vs EXP14i – Console

Both treadmills come with a separate screen from the main console. This is better in terms of viewing angle than the old flatter screens styles.

One of the big differences however is in the size of the screen – with the EXP14i treadmill coming out ahead here.

The Nordictrack EXP 14i screen is larger at 14 inches across:

The Nordictrack Commercial 1250 screen is a bit smaller at 10-inches across:

So the EXP14i treadmill screen is easier to read and more enjoyable to watch. This is especially true with the iFit scenery and HD workout videos.

It’s kind of like having a bigger phone or computer screen – for many people bigger is better.

Here’s another view of the Nordictrack 1250 screen:

And here’s the Nordictrack EXP14i screen:

So in terms of screen size, the Nordictrack EXP 14i treadmill comes out ahead. But there are a few other things you might also want to consider.

The Nordictrack Commercial 1250 screen can swivel and tilt. So you can rotate the screen around and watch it if you want to continue your iFit workout off the treadmill:

The Nordictrack EXP14i screen tilts – so you can find a good viewing angle for yourself. But it does not pivot. So it’s a bit harder to continue to watch your screen off the treadmill:

Nordictrack EXP14i vs Commercial 1250 – Media Shelf

The Nordictrack EXP14i treadmill comes with another advantage over the Commercial 1250 treadmill – it has a media shelf.

With the new updates this year, Nordictrack added a media shelf to the EXP14i console – but not to the new 1250 treadmill.

So you can rest your phone or tablet on the media shelf. Then watch your favorite Netflix shows, go online and watch Youtube videos or surf the net while you run.

This may seem like a small thing – but a lot of people really like having this option.

Nordictrack Commercial 1250 vs EXP14i: Decline

Both treadmills give you up to 12% incline. However the Commercial 1250 also gives you up to 3% decline. Plus it’s responsive to the iFit world trails.

So the treadmill will incline and decline to match the terrain of the trail that you’re running – giving you a more immersive, realistic training experience.

The EXP14i treadmill will also incline up and down in response to the terrain – but there is no decline option. So it’s more limited than the Commercial 1250 model.

Nordictrack EXP14i vs 1250 Treadmill: Belt

Another benefit that the Commercial 1250 treadmill has over the EXP14i is that it has a longer belt: 60 inches vs 55 inches.

So you get more room to stretch out and run on this treadmill. This is great for taller users or runners.

Nordictrack EXP14i vs Commercial 1250: Speakers

There’s also a slight difference in console speaker quality between these two treadmills.

The EXP14i has standard console speakers whereas the Commercial 1250 treadmill gives you premium speakers for crisper sound.

It’s not a deal breaker – but it’s worth knowing.

Bottom Line?

So which is better when comparing the Nordictrack EXP14i vs Commercial 1250 treadmills?

Well, they both give you iFit training and full-color, HD touch-screens. They also both fold up for easier movement.

The Nordictrack EXP14i treadmill has the larger screen size and the media shelf to add your own entertainment fun.

However the Commercial 1250 treadmill gives you a longer belt, swivelling console, better speakers and more immersive training with decline options.

So it really depends on what you’re looking for at the end of the day.
