Nordictrack T6.5S Treadmill Review – The Benefits:

Backlit, Dual-Color Console

The console here is not the usual Nordictrack full-color, HD, touch-screen console. It’s simpler – only dual color and not touch screen.

However some people prefer this since you don’t have to connect with iFit online (Nordictrack’s online streaming service) to use the treadmill.

You just get on, press start and go.

The console is also backlit – making it easier to read your workout stats if lighting is limited in your area.

There are one-touch incline and speed buttons running up and down the side of the console screen. These make it easy to make quick, on-the-fly changes – which is also handy.

iPod Compatible Sound System

You can also plug in your phone or other device and play your favorite workout music through the built-in speakers. This is a great way to add some fun to your workout.

2.6 CHP Motor

While it’s not the strongest motor Nordictrack makes, for a starter model, it’s pretty good. It should be fine for walking or occasion walking.

Add Challenge with up to 10% Incline

Add some high-intensity, calorie-burning intervals with up to 10 percent incline. The incline is power incline – so you can make change with the press of a button (or the one-touch buttons.

Explore the World with iFit Coach

While you don’t need to connect with iFit through the console to start the treadmill up, it is compatible with iFit.

iFit is Nordictrack’s online streaming service. You can connect with your tablet or other device and sync it to your treadmill.

From there you can track your workouts over time and set new goals. You can also run trails all over the world – from the streets of Paris to the shores of Hawaii – and watch real landmarks pass you by in your tablet or phone screen.

Need some extra challenge?

You can also take a high-energy livestream fitness class from your treadmill console. These workouts also include yoga, stretching, HIIT training, strength training and more.

Basically iFit can turn a boring old treadmill into your own personal fitness studio.

While iFit is usually a subscription based service, there is a free version you can try with a few limited programs – just so you can try it out and see if you like it.

However, as stated above, this is one of the few Nordictrack treadmills on the market right now where you don’t have to automatically connect with iFit online every time you want to start a workout. And if you just want a simple treadmill to get on and go, this makes it a great choice to do that.

Folding To Save Space

The Nordictrack T6.5S treadmill easily folds up to save space with the EasyLift Shock Assist to save the strain on your back.

This is something you don’t often find on many starter treadmills these days.

You can customize the deck feel to your personal preference.
For a softer, more cushioned feel, you can turn the cushioning up. This gives you extra protection for your knees, hips and back.

Or for a more “road-like” firmer-surface feel, just turn the cushioning down.

20 Built-in Workouts

If you don’t want to try iFit programs, there are still 20 different built-in workouts you’ll find in the console. This is a great way to add some challenge or change up your routine.

Nordictrack T6.5 Treadmill Review – Any Drawbacks?

Shorter Deck

While the 55-inch deck is fairly standard at this price point, it’s shorter than many of Nordictrack’s other models which usually run around 60 inches. Still, it should be fine for most people under 6 foot 2 inches.

Incline Limits

While you get up to 10% incline on this treadmill, if you’re already in great shape, you may want a bit more challenge found on the higher 15% incline treadmills.

Bottom Line?

The Nordictrack T6.5S treadmill is a great little starter treadmill that gives you the simple basics for an affordable price.

While the console isn’t as “advanced” or fancy as other Nordictrack treadmills, some people like this as they don’t have to connect with iFit every time they want to use the treadmill.

It’s not a commercial grade treadmill. The belt is a bit short and the incline options are limited.

But if you want a simple treadmill from a good name without a lot of fancy bells and whistles, this is a great choice. (Note however that it’s currently on closeout so we’re not sure how long it will be around).
