Which Nordictrack Treadmills Have iFit LIVE?
One of the things that sets Nordictrack treadmills apart is iFit (although ICON is putting iFit on some of their other brands like Proform now as well).
There are several different versions of iFit. iFit actually started out as simple workout cards that you could insert into your treadmill to add new workouts (once you were bored with the built-in workouts).
You’ll find that many older Nordictrack treadmill models have spots for iFit cards. However that version of iFit has since been discontinued – now it’s all about iFit LIVE.
This is the next generation of treadmill training, my friend. iFit LIVE connects your treadmill to the Internet and tracks your workouts for you. You can also use it to download new workouts (including some from Jillian Michaels where she coaches you through your workout).
You can also run famous trails all over the world using pre-mapped trails with Google. Or you can map out your own trail yourself with Googlemaps and watch as the real scenery passes you by in the console screen – very cool.
iFit LIVE is basically an online subscription based service (it runs about $99 a year) that lets you track your workouts, download countless new workouts, watch HD workout videos and run famous trails all over the world. You don’t need to have iFit to use your treadmill – but a lot of people really love the technology.
Most of the newer Nordictrack treadmills do have iFit LIVE now. The only difference is that some of the treadmills – the ones with only dual color consoles – need you to also purchase the iFit LIVE module.
The treadmills with full-color consoles like the 1750 or the 2450 treadmills come with iFit LIVE built-in (you don’t need to buy the extra module – which can save you about $99).
Also note that even if you have a dual color console, you can often connect to iFit on your tablet and set up your tablet above your console. So you’ll still get the full-color iFit LIVE experience.
Some of the best-rated Nordictrack treadmills with iFit LIVE are the Nordictrack 1750, the X9 and the 2450.
