Thinking about the Nordictrack X22i Incline Trainer?
Nordictrack has just released the new 2019 Commercial X22i model – which will be completely replacing the older Nordictrack X22i incline trainer in a few weeks.
(As of this writing you can currently get either one on the Manufacturer’s site here – but it won’t be for too much longer).
So what’s new?
First of all the Nordictrack X22i didn’t really need a huge overhall – it’s already one of the best treadmills in the Nordictrack lineup.
Very few treadmills give you a massive 22-inch touch-screen, HD console and up to 40% incline and 6% decline.
It also had one of the most powerful motors that Nordictrack makes – a monster 4.25 HP DurX Commercial Plus Motor.
All of these features have stayed the same.
There are really 2 main upgrades to the new X22i incline trainer:
A New Next-Gen Sled Push
The 2019 Nordictrack X22i model adds new push bar and sled grips to the console. This adds a totally different way to train your body.
You set the treadmill speed to 1.0 MPH and power through your workout in manual mode.
It can be a bit hard to picture, but here’s a graphic that explains it better for you:
These grips were no doubt added because there are new iFit workouts coming out that will incorporate this movement into their workouts.
Reinforced Steel Frame
Nordictrack has also upgraded to reinforced steel construction on the new X22i trainer. This may not sound exciting or flashy – but it basically helps to make the trainer much more stable and solid.
After all, if Nordictrack is going to call it a “Commercial” machine it has to be able to stand up to the toughest and longest workouts you can do at home. This includes homes with multiple users.
This, along with the massive motor and large 2.5 inch, non-flex rollers really give you a treadmill built to stand up under heavy, intense workouts. (Larger rollers help to reduce static on the belt and help to prolong the life of your treadmill).
Get an Immersive Training Experience iFit Coach
So those are some of the new changes on the 2019 Nordictrack X22i incline trainer. While it’s not a huge difference, again – why mess with perfection?
The best part about the X22i incline treadmill however (new model or old model) has got to be the iFit Coach workouts.
With iFit you can track your workouts over time, set new goals and even get customrized workouts sent to you based on your fitness goals.
You can also stream high-energy fitness classes to your treadmill console or run trails all over the world.
So you can run along the shores of the Amalfi Coast or visit the stunning village of Santorini, Greece. You can pretty much run anywhere in the world with iFit Coach.
And when you sign in, you can even see a list of the most popular iFit Coach world trails, which can help you find some hidden gems!
As of this writing, if you get the Nordictrack X22i through the Manufacturer, you can get a 1 year membership to iFit Coach included with the treadmill.
This is great since you can try it out for a full year to see if it’s right for you.
So that’s a brief recap on what’s new for 2019 on the Nordictrack X22i Incline Trainer
