Trying to compare the Nordictrack X22i vs Nordictrack 1750 treadmill?

Wondering how they’re different – and which is better value for your money?

Nordictrack X22i Incline Trainer

The Nordictrack Commercial 1750 and X22i incline trainer are two premium, runner-friendly treadmills that give you a more immersive training experience.

With world trail runs that you can watch on large, HD touch-screens, personalized workouts and even live fitness classes from home you’ll never run out of fun things to do.

Nordictrack updated the 1750 treadmill model last year with a sleek new look, lowered console and a larger screen.

The Nordictrack X22i – in its current form – has been around for about 3 years now. It’s one of the most popular incline trainers in the lineup. It’s also currently the most affordable, coming in around $1000 less than the X32i trainer.

So which is best for you in terms of value or your money?

In this post, we’ll cover the main differences between the Nordictrack X22i vs 1750 treadmills. So you can choose the best fit for you:

Nordictrack X22i vs 1750 Treadmill –  Price

As of this writing, the Commercial 1750 treadmill has the edge. It’s the more affordable of the two models – coming in around $2499 with Free Shipping here.

The Nordictrack X22i incline trainer comes in around $1000 more. While prices tend to jump around, you can usually get it for about $3499 with Free Shipping here.

So is the extra money worth it on the X22i treadmill? Here are some of the differences between the two treadmills to help you decide:

Nordictrack X22i vs 1750 – Console

Both treadmills give you impressive, HD, full-color touch screens. You can connect with iFit through the console and run trails all over the world or take studio classes from your home.

There are a few differences however – including the size of the screen.

The Nordictrack1750 treadmill console is 14-inches across:

This isn’t bad – and it’s larger than a lot of other treadmill brands at this price point.

However, the X22i goes one better and upgrades to a much larger 22-inch screen.

Nordictrack X22i Console

As you can see, the X22i console is easier to read and more enjoyable to use – especially with the iFit scenery and HD workout videos. It’s kind of like having a bigger phone or computer screen – for many people bigger is better.

There is one benefit the 1750 console has over the X22i however. Because it’s separate from the console, it also tilts and swivels.

You can turn the screen 180 degrees on the Commercial 1750 treadmill. On the X22i, you can only tilt the screen up or down for a better viewing angle.

So with the 1750 treadmill, you can get off the treadmill and continue your workout beside the machine – which is handy.

Nordictrack X22i vs 1750 – Calorie Burning Power

While you can get a good workout on either machine, the Nordictrack X22i gives you more calorie burning power.

How?

Because it gives you a lot more incline. The X22i is what’s known as an incline trainer treadmill. This is a specialized type of treadmill that gives you a much higher incline than standard treadmill.

You get from 0 – 40% incline on the X22i treadmill.

You get from 0 – 12% incline on the 1750 treadmill.

While most people can’t walk at 40% for too long (it can be challenging), you can certainly build in shorter high-intensity bursts of activity with the higher incline.

So that’s an advantage of the Nordictrack X22i vs 1750 treadmill.

Another benefit of the higher incline?

It can be low impact and easier on the joints.

For example, instead of running at a regular pace at a flat incline (which means constantly pounding down on the belt), you can slow the treadmill way down and raise the incline.

This is lower impact. And because you’re walking at the higher incline – you’ll still burn as many calories as you would if you were running on a lower incline.

Nordictrack 1750 vs X22i: Decline

The X22i treadmill also gives you another benefit over the 1750 treadmill – you get a deeper decline.

The Nordictrack 1750 goes up to 3% decline – which is still pretty good considering most other brands of treadmills don’t offer any decline option.

But the X22i incline trainer goes up to 6% decline. So you get deeper decline – which is very handy after a very intense workout interval.

Nordictrack X22i or 1750: Folding

Need a folding treadmill? If so, then the Commercial 1750 treadmill is the best option for you.

Because of the limitations of a high-incline treadmill the Nordictrack X22i does not fold up (but you can take apart the base from the console for easier movement).

The Nordictrack 1750 does fold up – making it a better option if you need a folding home treadmill.

Other Differences

There are a few other differences you might want to know. The first difference is motor power. The Nordictrack 1750 gives you a very healthy 3.5 CHP motor power – which is fine for runners and walkers alike.

However the Nordictrack X22i goes one better with a stronger 4.0 CHP motor.

The next difference is in the footprint.

The Nordictrack 1750 treadmill measures 80 x 38 inches

The Nordictrack X22i incline trainer measures 70 x 39 inches – making it just a bit shorter length wise.

Again, while this is a minor difference, if you have a very limited workout area, you might prefer the smaller footprint of the X22i treadmill.

Bottom Line?

So which treadmill gives you better value when comparing the Nordictrack X22i vs 1750 treadmill?

They both have strong construction, tough decks and impressive consoles.

The Nordictrack 1750 has the benefit of being more affordable with a sleeker, more updated look this year.

It also comes with the swivelling console and it folds up – making it easier to move around.

The Nordictrack X22i however gives you a much higher incline and deeper decline for better crosstraining. And with the larger screen, you’ll get a more immersive, enjoyable experience.

So it really depends on what you’re looking for.
