Nordictrack X32i Dimensions and Ceiling Height Questions Answered

Wondering about the Nordictrack X32i treadmill dimensions and ceiling height requirements?
Good question.
The X32i is extremely popular.
It gives you super-high inclines and declines along with one of the largest screens you’ll find on a treadmill.
It’s a monster machine.
But will it fit in your home?
This post will show you the dimensions and also give you the ceiling height requirements on the Nordictrack X32i Incline Trainer Treadmill.
Please note, this is only for the newest version of the Nordictrack X32i model and doesn’t apply to past – or future – models.
So let’s get started:
Nordictrack X32i Dimensions – Length, Width and Height
The dimensions on the Nordictrack X32i treadmill are 76.5″ L x 40” W x 73” H
The weight of the machine itself is 462 pounds.
So it’s extremely heavy – and takes up a fair bit of space (although technically smaller than the 2450 model).
Also, it doesn’t fold up (although you can remove the console from the base and move it in two separate parts to lighten the load).
Taking all of this into consideration, it’s probably best to know where you want to put the treadmill BEFORE it arrives.
Also, while this isn’t necessary, depending on your floor, you might want to get a high quality treadmill mat to put under it just to cushion the machine.

Question: How Much Ceiling Height Do I Need for the Nordictrack X32i Treadmill?
Nordictrack is a bit cagey with this information. It’s hard to find anywhere. And with the super-high incline you’ll need to know this – since you’ll probably need a higher ceiling to accomodate the incline.
So, I went straight to the manufacturer and asked them.
Here’s the answer I received:
It is about 12 inches off the ground and you add about 18 inches to your height to use the machine at max incline.
So you’ll need to take your height – or the height of the tallest user in your home – and add on an extra 18 inches.
Then compare this to the ceiling height of the room where you’re planning to place the X32i treadmill to see if it fits.
Eighteen inches is 1.5 feet. So let’s do the math to find the right ceiling height for you:

If you’re 6 feet tall, you’ll need to add another 1.5 feet onto your height: 6 + 1.5 = 7.5 feet. So you need a ceiling height of at least 7.5 feet.
If you’re 5 foot 5 inches that’s a bit trickier. We have to convert that to feet first.
Five inches is about 0.42 feet. So technically someone who is 5 foot five inches is 5.42 feet tall.
Now add on another 1.5 feet to that: 5.42 + 1.5 = 6.92 feet.
So you’ll need a ceiling height of 6.92 feet. You could probably get away with a lower 7 foot ceiling in this case.
Here are some more calculations for you:
Someone who is 5 foot 7 inches needs a ceiling height of 5.58 + 1.5 = 7.08 feet
Someone who is 5 foot 9 inches needs a ceiling height of 5.75 + 1.5 = 7.25 feet
Someone who is 5 foot 11 inches needs a ceiling height of 5.92 + 1.5 = 7.42 feet
Someone who is 6 foot 2 inches needs a ceiling height of 6.17 + 1.5 = 7.67 feet
So I hope that clears things up on the questions about Nordictrack X32i ceiling height requirements. Again, remember that this only applies to the newest X32i treadmill model (seen below):
