Nordictrack X9i Incline Trainer Review – The Benefits:

Burn Almost 400 Calories in 20 Minutes

Looking to burn more calories in less time? Don’t have a lot of time to workout?

The X9i trainer is a great option!

According to tests done by the manufacturer, you can burn up to 381 calories walking at a 40% incline for 20 minutes (as opposed to burning 87 calories walking at a 0% incline).

This is almost 5 TIMES the calorie burning. With a machine like this, you’ll see results in the mirror very fast.

In fact, contestants on The Biggest Loser actually used the incline trainer treadmill instead of regular treadmills on the show – because it gets fast results so quickly.

But it’s not just about weight loss.

The higher incline means you have a lot of room to grow with this treadmill. You won’t top out at the standard 15% incline and then have nowhere to go. You can keep challenging yourself for years to come.

Full-Color, HD Console

The Nordictrack X9i Incline Trainer also gives you a full-color, touch-screen, HD console.

You can watch your stats with a swipe of your finger – or just enjoy the iFit scenery – in living color!

There’s also a dual-speed cooling fan to keep you comfortable as you workout – and an auxiliary music port in the console. So you can plug in your phone and play your favorite tunes through the built-in console speakers.

Explore the World with iFit Coach

iFit Coach can help you keep track of all of your activity, exercise, calorie intake or even your sleep patterns. It’s a very motivational way to set and reach new fitness goals.

The best part about iFit though? The over 12,000 on-demand workouts you can stream right from your console. You can get in-studio workouts that are just like being in a fitness class.

Or run different trails all over the world – from Thailand to Hawaii – with personal trainers that coach you through your workout.

Don’t want to run with a personal trainer?

No problem – you can also run different world trails on your own and watch the scenery pass you by in the console screen in full color.

iFit Workout

Although iFit is normally a yearly subscription service, if you get the Nordictrack X9i incline trainer direct through the Manufacturer here you’ll get a FREE 1 year iFit membership included with your incline trainer.

So you can try iFit out for a full year (for free) to see if you like it.

Extra-Wide, Extra-Long Belt

One of the past complaints with many incline trainers was that the belts were too short to run on (they were originally designed only for high incline walking).

However, Nordic Track has fixed this by adding an extra long 60″ belt to the X9 incline trainer. They’ve also widened the belt from 20 to 22 inches to give you even more room to move.

Add More Crosstraining with the 6% Decline

In addition to a high 40% incline, the X9 also comes with 6% decline which gives you even more crosstraining options.

It’s also really neat because when you run different world trails using the iFit feature, the treadmill inclines and declines to match the actual trail.

Surf the Net With The Built-in Tablet Holder

There’s also a built-in tablet holder above the console. So you can use your tablet to surf the net or watch movies or your favorite TV shows as you walk.

The tablet will not cover the console – so you can see both the tablet and the treadmill console with your stats at the same time.

Free Wireless Heart Rate Monitor

The X9i trainer does come with EKG hand grips sensors to monitor your heart rate. Plus, if you get it through the Manufacturer here, you can also get a Free wireless chest strap included.

Most people prefer to use the wireless monitor since it’s a lot more convenient than having to continually grasp the EKG hand sensors to get a reading. It also tends to give you much more accurate results than the hand sensors.

Nordictrack X9i Review – What You Should Know:

Console

The console is a full 7 inches across on this unit – which is fine for more people. However it is one of the smaller consoles on an incline trainer.

If you want a much larger console, you may want to consider the X11i model with a 10 inch console or the X22i model with a massive 22 inch consolee

Does Not Fold

Because of the limits of the high incline design, the Nordictrack X9i incline trainer doesn’t fold up. So if you’re looking for something that folds up or you have a smaller workout area, you may want to go with a standard folding treadmill instead.

Bottom Line?

The NordicTrack X9i Incline trainer is one of the most affordable incline trainers on the market with everything you need to get a great workout. With the 40% incline (and 6% decline) you can burn a lot more calories than with a regular treadmill.

Plus, because the treadmill can rise so high to meet your feet, it’s also lower impact than a standard treadmill – making it great if you have sore knees or joints.

And you’ll never run out of things to do on this treadmill.

Run famous world trails with iFit. Take a fitness class from your console. Or watch movies on your tablet. There are a lot of fun ways to pass the time on this treadmill!
